Five questions to our data expert Erkan Kopuz about Process Automation software

Erkan Kopuz (40) has been working as a data expert for almost 15 years. In that capacity, he has provided and implemented solutions for various data management and data governance-related issues for a wide range of organizations. The guiding principle in this regard has always been the triangle of “Systems, Processes, and People.” When it comes to systems and processes, this seasoned professional has always had a passion for implementing solutions that, simply put, aim to automate repetitive tasks.

These so-called Process Automation solutions are becoming increasingly popular. But what exactly does this entail and what benefits does it bring to organizations? We present Erkan with five questions.

There is growing interest in Process Automation among organizations. Within TENTIVE, you are one of the experts in this field. We would like to know more about this topic. To start with, what does it mean?

“Process Automation is giving instructions to a computer so that it can perform tasks without the need for manual intervention. Process Automation is used in companies and organizations to automate repetitive tasks. For example, it can involve automatically processing data, generating reports, or sending emails. This saves time and effort, allowing people to focus on more important tasks.”

There are various Process Automation solutions available in the market. Could you tell us a bit more about the solutions TENTIVE offers to its clients?

“Certainly! Our approach is that we can provide a suitable solution for all ERP packages. For example, we offer solutions like Automate Studio from Precisely (formerly known as ‘Winshuttle’) and Process Runner from Insightsoftware for our clients using ‘major’ ERP packages like SAP. But we also have the knowledge and expertise to provide a generic solution for ‘smaller’ ERP packages, such as Microsoft Power Automate.”

In addition to automating repetitive tasks, this software can surely do much more, right?

“Absolutely. Process Automation has various applications, including data extraction, reporting, workflow automation, and system integration. It enables organizations to efficiently extract, transform, and load data. This significantly reduces time-consuming manual processes, resulting in cost savings.”

It all sounds very promising! But is it relatively easy to implement in companies?

“Of course, it depends on the IT landscape of the client. However, our experience is that we can implement and configure this software quickly at our clients’ organizations, so they can immediately benefit from it. The implementation usually takes a few weeks, not months. Moreover, we always provide end-user training. Due to the low-code or no-code nature of the software solutions we support, users quickly get up to speed. Nevertheless, we are always available in the background if a user has additional questions, for example. Good aftercare is, of course, a given.”

Finally, is the Process Automation software industry-specific, or does it apply to any sector?

“It is indeed not industry-specific. Process Automation software can be applied in any sector. Personally, I have implemented this software at the most diverse companies, ranging from food retail to manufacturing and from commercial services to higher education institutions. In short, this software can be a solution for any organization looking to automate its business processes.”
